Who we are & what this covers

See Benefits Now ("See Benefits Now," "we," "us," or "our") operates an independent consumer information and benefits-discovery platform. We help people find, understand, save, and keep track of government assistance programs, financial-relief resources, discounts, coupons, promotional offers, and other money-saving opportunities.

This policy applies to information we collect through the Site, through any account or dashboard features we make available, through our email and SMS programs, and through forms, surveys, and questionnaires we operate. It does not apply to the practices of third parties we do not control — see Third-party sites & official resources below.

Information you provide

We collect information you choose to give us. Depending on how you use the Site, that may include:

  • Contact details — your name, email address, postal address, and telephone or mobile number.
  • Account information — if we offer registration, the username, password, and profile settings you create.
  • Location details — the ZIP code, city, county, or state you enter so we can show programs and offers available in your area.
  • Interests and needs you tell us about — the benefit categories you select or search for (for example healthcare, housing, food, utilities, education, transportation, senior or disability resources), and answers you give in any questionnaire or benefit-finder tool.
  • Items you save and track — the benefits, programs, coupons, and offers you bookmark; the status you assign to them; any notes, reminders, deadlines, or renewal dates you record.
  • Messages you send us — the content of contact-form submissions, support requests, survey responses, and other correspondence.
  • Household or demographic details you volunteer — such as household size, age range, or general income range, if you choose to provide them so we can surface more relevant resources.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically by our servers and by the technologies described in the next section. This information is generally not used to identify you personally. It may include:

  • Your IP address and general, approximate location derived from it (such as region or metro area).
  • Browser type and version, operating system, device type, and screen size.
  • The pages you view, the links you click, the searches you run on the Site, and the time and date of your visit.
  • The referring website or advertisement that brought you to the Site, and the site you visit when you leave.
  • Diagnostic and performance data, including error reports.

We use this information to operate and secure the Site, understand which content is useful, diagnose problems, and improve the experience.

Cookies & similar technologies

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device that lets a website recognize your browser. We and our partners use cookies, web beacons, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and saved items, measure how the Site is used, and — where applicable — deliver and measure advertising.

Types we use

  • Essential — required for the Site to function, such as session management and security.
  • Preference — remember choices like your ZIP code or selected categories.
  • Analytics — help us understand aggregate traffic and content performance.
  • Advertising — used by advertising partners to measure campaigns and show relevant offers.

Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when one is being set, and you can delete cookies already stored. If you disable cookies, some parts of the Site — particularly saved items, tracking features, and personalized results — may not work properly.

Analytics & advertising

Analytics

We use third-party analytics services, which may include Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the Site in aggregate. These services set their own cookies and collect usage information subject to their own privacy policies. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising and remarketing

We and our advertising partners may use remarketing and interest-based advertising to show you See Benefits Now content or partner offers on other websites and platforms after you have visited the Site. These partners may use cookies and device identifiers to do this.

You can limit interest-based advertising through the following industry tools:

Opting out stops personalized targeting; it does not stop you from seeing advertising altogether.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and our services.
  • Show you benefits, programs, resources, coupons, and offers that may be relevant to the needs and location you tell us about.
  • Power account features — saving items, tracking application status, storing your notes, and sending the reminders you ask for about deadlines and renewal dates.
  • Respond to your questions, comments, and support requests.
  • Send you newsletters, alerts, updates, and promotional messages where you have asked for them or where otherwise permitted by law.
  • Measure the performance of our content, campaigns, and partner offers.
  • Conduct research and analysis, including in aggregated or de-identified form, to understand what our audience needs.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

How we share information

We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. Vendors who perform work on our behalf — website hosting, email and SMS delivery, analytics, customer support, and security — may access information only as needed to perform that work.
  • Marketing and advertising partners. We may share limited information with advertising networks and partners to deliver and measure campaigns and to present offers that may interest you.
  • Participating third parties and offer providers. If you choose to request information about, click through to, or sign up for a third-party program, product, coupon, or offer, the information you submit in connection with that request may be shared with that provider so it can respond to you. Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policy.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith it is required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of See Benefits Now, our users, or the public.
  • Aggregated or de-identified data. We may share information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
  • With your direction. We share information in any other way you specifically direct or consent to.

Some sharing described above may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under certain state privacy laws. See California privacy rights and Other state privacy rights for how to opt out.

Email, SMS & phone

Email

If you subscribe, register, or request information, we may send you newsletters, benefit alerts, deadline and renewal reminders, new-resource announcements, and promotional messages. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You may also email info@seebenefitsnow.com to be removed. We may still send you non-promotional messages related to your account or a request you made.

Text messages

Where you have provided your mobile number and agreed to receive text messages, we may send alerts and reminders. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any message to cancel or HELP for help. Full details are in our Mobile & SMS Terms.

Telephone

If you provide a telephone number and consent to be contacted, we or a partner may call you about programs and offers. Consent to receive calls or texts is not a condition of using the Site or of receiving any benefit. You may withdraw consent at any time — see Do Not Call policy.

Your choices & opt-outs

  • Email — click the unsubscribe link in any marketing message, or email us.
  • Text messages — reply STOP to any message.
  • Phone calls — ask to be added to our internal Do Not Call list.
  • Cookies — adjust your browser settings, as described above.
  • Interest-based advertising — use the DAA, NAI, or Google tools linked above.
  • Account information — sign in to update your details, saved items, and reminder settings, or contact us for help.

Please allow a reasonable period for your request to take effect across our systems. Opting out of marketing does not remove information we are required to retain for legal or recordkeeping purposes.

Do Not Call policy

We maintain an internal Do Not Call list. To be added to it, or to ask that we stop calling you, contact us at info@seebenefitsnow.com or write to See Benefits Now, 5249 North Park Place NE, Unit #2179, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402, United States. Please include the telephone number or numbers you want suppressed. Please allow up to 30 days for processing. You may also register your number with the National Do Not Call Registry at donotcall.gov.

Access, correction & deletion

You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct information that is inaccurate, or to delete information we no longer need to retain. Send your request to info@seebenefitsnow.com with enough detail for us to locate your records. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. We may decline a request where an exception applies — for example, where we must keep records to comply with a legal obligation, resolve disputes, or prevent fraud.

California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA"), gives you the rights described below.

Categories of personal information

In the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the following categories:

Sources and purposes

We collect this information directly from you, automatically from your device as you use the Site, and from service providers and advertising partners. We use it for the business and commercial purposes described in How we use information, and we disclose it as described in How we share information. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

Your California rights

  • Right to know — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it.
  • Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out — direct us not to sell or share your personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Right to limit — limit the use of sensitive personal information, to the extent we process any.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a lower quality of service because you exercised a privacy right.

How to submit a request

Email info@seebenefitsnow.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request," or write to See Benefits Now, 5249 North Park Place NE, Unit #2179, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402. To opt out of sale or sharing, use the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information." You may use an authorized agent, and we may ask for proof of that authorization. We will verify your identity before responding and will not charge a fee for a reasonable request.

Shine the Light

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about personal information disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. Send such requests to the address above; please allow 30 days for a response.

Minors under 18

California residents under 18 who are registered users may request removal of content or information they posted publicly on the Site. Removal may not be complete or comprehensive — for example, copies may remain in backups or may have been copied by others.

Other state privacy rights

Residents of certain other states — including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others as their laws take effect — may have rights to confirm whether we process their personal data, to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of it, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling. Where applicable law provides an appeal process, you may appeal a decision by replying to our response.

To exercise these rights, email info@seebenefitsnow.com with your state of residence and the right you wish to exercise. We will verify your request and respond within the period required by your state's law.

Nevada residents

Nevada law allows residents to submit a verified request directing a business not to sell certain personal information it has collected or will collect. If you are a Nevada resident and wish to submit such a request, email info@seebenefitsnow.com with the subject line "Nevada Opt-Out Request."

Do Not Track signals

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is currently no industry or legal standard for how websites must respond to these signals, and the Site does not respond to them at this time. Where required by law, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser or device transmitting the signal.

Third-party sites & official resources

The Site links to official government portals, nonprofit organizations, participating providers, advertisers, and other third-party websites. We provide these links for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, security, or privacy practices. Once you leave the Site, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of every site you visit before providing personal information.

Government applications should always be completed on the official government website for the program. If a site asks you to pay a fee to apply for a free government benefit, treat it with caution.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy — including maintaining your account and saved items, providing the reminders you requested, meeting legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it. Residual copies may persist in backup systems for a limited period.

Security

We use reasonable physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards designed to protect the information we collect against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include access controls, encryption of data in transit over the public internet, and limiting access to personnel who need it.

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping any account password confidential, and you should notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Children & minors

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in violation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact info@seebenefitsnow.com and we will take appropriate action.

Users outside the United States

The Site is intended for users located in the United States, and the programs and offers we describe are generally available only in the United States. Information we collect is processed and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post the revised policy here. Material changes may be communicated through the Site or by email. Your continued use of the Site after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
